One of the richest cities in the world, Mumbai is the film capital of India. With a large number of Bollywood hits churned out every year, this is a city where every man aspires to make it big in life. The shimmering Arabian Sea and the giant sky scrapers are all part of the scenery as much as the Dhobi Ghat and the Gateway of India. The city is divided into North and South Mumbai, with the North consisting of Juhu, Bandra, Chembur, Jogeshwari and Santa Cruz and the south having Colabacauseway,Marine drive, Chowpatty beach, Nariman point, Malabar Hill and Kemp’s corner.
As with any famous city in the world, accommodations in Mumbai are not cheap. Visitors have to dole out a large amount of money to obtain a respectable stay else be satisfied with the sub-standard dorm rooms and lodges situated at unsavoury spots around the city. There are Mumbai hotels that are well known for their luxurious décor and services and these hotels usually are situated close to the beaches to provide a sea view to the guests staying there. These hotels are of world class standards and attract the crème de la crème of the Bollywood industry who tend to visit them quite often.
Good and reasonably priced accommodations in Mumbai are hard to come by as it is over populated with a population of 14 million people and hence there is a limited living space. Most of the good hotels are located close to local modes of transportation, and they provide the tourists with decent services and amenities. The beach front resorts are a big hit with the tourists and they return year after year to enjoy the beaches of the Arabian Sea. Mumbai hotels of world class standards are no less attractive as they are located close to the beach themselves.
